Essential Tips for a Seamless Backyard Structure Delivery

What you need to know to have a successful and easy backyard delivery

At Red Shed Co., we understand the excitement of receiving your custom backyard shed, garage, or office – the perfect addition to elevate your outdoor space. To ensure a smooth delivery experience, here are some key tips and information you need to know:

Weather considerations

Delivery schedules are subject to weather conditions. Safety is our top priority, and adverse weather such as snow, heavy rainstorms, lightning, or strong winds may impact scheduled deliveries. Be aware and be flexible with our delivery team - we won’t risk damage to your property or structure.

Level ground preparation

It’s your responsibility to provide a level area for your structure. This can be a cement slab or a gravel pad. Cement slabs should be a minimum of 4” thick, and gravel pads should be a minimum of 6” thick, unless otherwise specified by local building authorities.

Easy access to your property

Ensure the delivery team can easily access your property without obstructions. This will influence the method of delivery chosen by our team. Take into consideration width of openings, the turning radius of your structure if going into a corner, proximity to hydro wires or fences, potential damage to neighbouring properties, and any soft ground conditions. For the safety of our delivery team and your pets, ensure your yard is free of animals and animal waste during the delivery.

Property clearance

The opening into your yard must have at least 12” clearance to facilitate smooth delivery and placement. Obstacles may require adjustment during delivery, so clear pathways are crucial.

Neighbourly consent and damage awareness

We won't use neighboring properties, driveways, lawns, or walkways without explicit verbal and written consent from the property owners at the time of delivery. Due to the nature of heavy equipment used, some damage to lawns or gardens may occur during delivery. We'll notify you of any potential obstructions or damages identified during the pre-delivery site inspection.

Permit requirements

Different regions have varying regulations regarding permits for new structures. Contact your local Building Departments to ensure compliance with local regulations.

Our dedicated team is here to guide you through the entire delivery and installation process. Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. We're committed to making your Red Shed Co. experience exceptional!
